This section address some of the frequently asked questions received at the AWS-Detroit office regarding carrers in Weld Engineering.

Question: Can you supply me with any information related to career opportunities at the cutting edge of the welding technology?

Answer: To review a list of local (Metro Detroit) companies that have hired weld engineering personnel in the late 90's and early years of 2000. A quick search of the world wide web also provides several sites containing statistics related to career opportunities within the welding field. The AWS (national) web site is also an excellent resource for researching this information.

Question: What are the best schools to go to and what type of education do I need?

Answer: There are two universities in the Michigan/Ohio ara that have excellent weld engineering programs: Ferris State University, located in Big Rapids, Michigan, and the Ohio State University locatedin Columbus, Ohio.
